Firebird PR delivers communication skills training courses

Effective communications for staff and volunteers

Firebird PR recently delivered a series of skills development courses on effective communications for staff and volunteers from museums, galleries and heritage attractions in the South East.

Building on Firebird's extensive experience as an agency specialising in communications as well as the museum sector, these courses provide the knowledge and skills needed to plan and deliver effective communications and advocacy activities to a range of audiences. Delegates left the courses with practical tools and techniques that they can implement at work.

In the current economic climate, it is perhaps more critical than ever before for museums and galleries to be able to demonstrate their impact and value to key stakeholders such as funders, policy-makers and government.

The course Making the case: communicating the impact of museums to stakeholders provides the core knowledge and skills needed to advocate effectively on behalf of museums and galleries, exploring how delegates can highlight the pivotal role their organisation plays in our culture, as well as the impact that they have on individuals and communities as places of education, inspiration and enjoyment.

Meanwhile, the course Effective communications: developing a communications plan focused on:

  • Creating a communications strategy
  • Identifying and engaging with audiences
  • Sharing case studies from the sector
  • Communicating in a crisis
  • Monitoring and evaluation
