Jane Bevan

Jane Bevan's communications career spans more than 25 years, from teaching environmental science to her current position as Managing Director of her own PR consultancy. As part of a small consultancy, she maintains close contact with all clients at an operational level, at the same time providing team leadership and managing the business function.

As an Account Director with international PR agency Burson-Marsteller, she represented high profile brands in the consumer sector, including Unilever, Cadbury-Schweppes, and Nabisco, as well as being part of the UK crisis management team.

Moving into the not-for-profit sector, Jane worked for two environmental charities, the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers and WWF-UK, the latter as Head of Press Office. Through these positions, she gained wide experience of working alongside commercial sponsors, including major oil companies, the banking and financial sectors, and the pharmaceutical industry.

With a background in environmental campaigning and political lobbying in the UK and internationally, Jane has practical knowledge of environmental and scientific issues over the last two decades.

Prior to launching Isis PR in 1999, Jane was Head of Public Relations at The Natural History Museum for over seven years, where she was responsible for media relations, internal communications, science communication and promoting the world-class exhibitions, events and education programmes. She has won several industry awards including the PR Week Gold Award for In-house Department of the Year in 1998.

In February 2007, Jane launched her latest business venture: Firebird Public Relations.
